Severn Valley Railway Footbridge / April 2007

We were honoured to be asked to help with the restoration and refurbishment of the foot bridge at Bridgenorth station on the Severn Valley Railway.

It was a large and delicate job which would have usually of been conducted on site. However due to the amount of existing aged paint on the structure, it was decided to uproot and transport the whole bridge into our works where structural remedial work could also be carried out.

After being extensively blast cleaned, which took a number of days, the bridge was then painted with a blast holding primer and craned outside for the fabricators to start work on the repairs.

Once repaired the bridge was then moved back into the works for blast cleaning again followed by a three coat paint system. The final colours were matched by us from some original station colours samples.
